Crelan: Corporate website
A fully tailored cloud environment for high security and performance
The Crelan project was a rewarding technical challenge, one that fit perfectly within the flexibility of our ScaleCity BLACK formula.
Crelan came to us with high expectations and a number of strict security requirements. Working closely with their IT team, we customized our Percona XtraDB cluster to meet their internal standards, including SSL encryption, audit logging, password reuse policies, and CIS hardening.
To ensure high availability, we deployed the full platform in a redundant, zone-based setup. Every key component, from web servers and PHP applications to MySQL clusters, was split across three independent zones. This design allows for zero-downtime maintenance, as well as zone-specific scaling, giving Crelan both control and resilience.
We also established a secure bridge between their internal on-premise network and the ScaleCity-managed Google Cloud environment. This hybrid setup enabled them to serve critical apps, like their loan calculator and branch locator, from within their own security framework.
Throughout the process, we maintained a strong focus on security and transparency. Monitoring and maintenance are fully traceable, allowing Crelan to verify all operational actions taken.
In a later optimization phase, we collaborated with our sister company TheDigitals to drastically improve performance. By introducing frontend caching, we made the site load up to 25x faster, reducing server strain and improving the experience for both visitors and administrators.
Given the level of customization and isolation required, ScaleCity BLACK was the clear choice. It gave us the freedom to build a platform that aligned with Crelan’s security model, performance needs, and operational structure, without compromise.
