Vandemoortele: Brand sites
Flexible infrastructure for growing B2B and B2C platforms
For Vandemoortele, we were asked to migrate their existing brand websites and prepare for upcoming ones on our hosting platform. Both their B2B and B2C sites needed to handle spikes in traffic during promo campaigns, while keeping costs reasonable during quieter periods. Our RED formula was the ideal match, offering the right balance between flexibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
The technical setup uses containers with horizontal scaling as a standard, so the sites can automatically adjust to changing traffic. We made sure caching was well integrated to keep everything running smoothly for visitors. The deployment also involved configuring persistent storage for media and assets, and optimizing the underlying database setup to support both current and future sites efficiently. Security best practices were followed throughout, including regular updates and isolation between different sites.
I enjoyed the challenge of building a setup that is both efficient and ready for future growth as Vandemoortele migrates more B2C websites to our platform. The end result is a set of fast, well-designed websites for a client everyone recognizes. It’s always satisfying to be able to tell friends and family "We host their site!", especially when it’s such a familiar name.
